Stories

Stories, myths, and legends bring benefits to humanity in at least three ways. First, stories can boost our intellectual development. Children who are being told or read stories develop their listening and speaking skills, especially if they are invited to discuss the story just told or read to them. Stories also wire our brains for collaborative thinking, strengthening our social ties. Storytelling certainly has had a significant impact on our development as a thinking species because stories build up our understanding and knowledge of the world and motivate us to develop reading and writing skills.
