It happened in ancient times. People were just waking
up. A bird lit up the sky with a tail of flame and feathers of all possible
colors. She was beautiful. People could see her and admire her in every corner
of the world. She was in the sky for a few days and nights and then she
disappeared. People have been talking about her for a long time as an unseen
wonder. Over time, these stories gained more details and more and more
different events and facts. In the end there was no mention of the bird at all,
or perhaps, quite a bit, occasionally.
Skeptics will say that this story is about the passing of some celestial body, probably a comet, in the early days of human history, but this is a story about creating a myth. The facts of what happened do not matter. It doesn’t matter if the event took place at all. What remains in peoples’ memory is a story, a myth, or a legend. The first story being told is not meant to remain unchanged for all time. It has its life span and development. In the end, the original motif can completely disappear. What remains is a message, a lesson, a metaphor, or a parable.
It continues....
